Glass Artist Robert KusterArtist: Robert Kuster

Theo Schols has created an amazing home in Rotterdam incorporating both aesthetic and functional art from around the world. Working with his architect during the design phase of the project, Mr. Schols wanted a showpiece chandelier in the main entry that could be viewed from several places in the home including through a front window to the street. The architect designed a 2-story space for a chandelier that was yet to be selected. After an extensive search for just the right chandelier, he found what he Glass Artist Robert Kusterwas looking for at GlassArtists Gallery. Jack Healy, a partner in the firm, worked withartist Robert Kuster to create several chandeliers that fulfilled Mr. Schols vision in both the entry and dining room of the home.

Glass Artist Robert KusterIn all, 1,150 hand blown glass pieces were individually created by the artist for one main chandelier measuring 12’ high by 7’ wide and two “smaller” chandeliers for the dining room of a this magnificent home. As you can see from the photos, the results are nothing less than stunning and match the grandeur of this unique and special home.

The design of the chandeliers allowed Mr. Schols workmen to assemble the chandeliers onsite with simple instructions. The wiring in the internal “cages” was made to European specifications.

Glass Artists Gallery has sold hundreds of chandeliers and sconces made by Mr. Kuster to clients all over the world. These unique lighting sculptures are made to order, so colors can be customized to the buyer’s décor and personal tastes.
